Commission. The big bad wolf isn't so scary after all! I find a lot of things wrong with this portrait but I still do not have the knowledge on how to fix them. I would like some technical advice on how to make more realistic colouring of clothing, as well as backgrounds.

It´s a long ago that I haved written a critique and I think it´s time now to write one: First of all, you art is so pretty and beautiful I like it very much. My Opion is: Colors goes very good together. The Background is blur enough. She is in the middle of the picture. Her Eyes are amazing, I love them. They are so pretty blue. I like the size, it fits good to her.
The eyelashes are good. The grass in back and front are really good and the color - I like it as it is. Las but not least: You did a great job.
I hope my critique is helpful

What we have here is another splendid piece. The woman is dressed up as a dog. How could you go wrong? Simply put, you couldn't. I find this to be excellently designed and crafted. It is considered to be suitable. The color scheme also tells the story for those who wish to see this submission. As it may be, there's a lot of story behind a woman dressed up in a dog costume. The eye is one of the best aspects for this woman. The grass looks a little bit dull in color, but the rest of this piece is what is considered to be great.

Hello - :iconprojectcomment: member here.

One thing that I really like about this picture is the eyes; they have a deep, hidden beauty to them that you can see as soon as you look into them, and I'm a fan of how you've made them have a sort of doll-like appearance with the highlighting as well as the overly rounded shape. The eyelashes are good too, because they're not too heavy so they divert too much attention away nor are they so light that you can hardly see them. I also love what you did with the grass too, because it looks very realistic both with the colours that you've used, as well as the way that you've drawn it in.

Something that you could work on though, is perhaps adding some solid black outlines of varying thicknesses on her so as to make her pop even more - I've found that on her onesie especially a lot of the lines blend in with one another, so I feel that if you did that it would make certain bits stand out just a touch more. And another thing is to do with shading - you've done a good job with it, but to add further emphasis I would definitely recommend putting some deeper gradients in too. Such as around her breasts, and around her midsection.

But with all of that being said, I think that you've done well with this picture in a general sense. :)

Thanks so much! I'm going for a lineless style so I may not follow the black line idea, but the shadows and lighting definitely need improvement to make her pop, I agree! I appreciate you taking the time to critique my work my friend <3

Hi! I am from Project Comment

:iconprojectcomment:

There are a lot of things I really like about the drawing, but the two that stand out the most to me are the eyes and the lips. The eyes have a lot of detail and look very beautiful. I think lips are hard to draw and you did a great job on those as well. I also love the time and detail you put into the piece, such as having her be more crisp and focused and the background be more blurry.

One thing I see that I think could be improved is her back right leg seems a little too short for her pose based on the rest of her body. Her front leg goes out further to the left than the right leg, but if you look at a reference photo of a girl sitting on her knees facing the left, the back right leg extends further to the left than the front leg.

Here is an example picture of what I mean. You can look at the legs and see.

I hope that explanation made sense and I hope it was helpful!

Great job! She is so adorable :3

very lonely picture very smooth and soft, and the doll-like eyes are alittle eerie but pretty. That all being said, the  face has way more detail and is much more defined then the rest of the body so that sticks out alittle, maybe add alittle furr texture to the suit and all will be more balanced ^_^ great work overall!

You're very right, that's not the first time that has been mentioned to me. I put a lot of detail into the eyes and don't put any detail into the rest of the piece. I will definitely work hard on fixing this from now on! Thank you so much :)

Just wondering though, how could I make them a little less creepy? I notice a lot of the faces and eyes I draw look a little creepy. I want them to look cute and innocent TvT

asking the wrong person, I like creepy things lmao xD
part of it could be, because they're all doll-like and dolls eyes are very glassy  kind of stare lifelessly at nothing in particular, im guilty of drawing my eyes like this sometimes too. When I was in colelge I drew a doll for one of my projects, but it's obvious i intended for her to be creepy as possible lmao vimeo.com/94317290 the 2nd art of the doll is at the start and the 3d model is at the end, presonally i think creepy is fun as hell :D!!!!
but I mean if you don't want that just try to make sure the detail in the rest of the character matches the eyes to avoid the creepy doll feel XD

I will take your advice XD Sometimes the creepiness is intended but most of the time it's not. Thank you much for helping me and talking with me~

Clothing is definitely something I really need to work on. Like.. a lot. TvT I have been paying a lot of attention lately to clothing. In class I will sit and look at the other students and kind of see how the clothing falls, how the light hits them, etc. Thanks so much my friend!

This is so cute!! *w* The background and grass looks really good and the bow adds such a nice touch of colour and extra cuteness <3 And the skin and eyes looks amazing as always~ Hmm I suck at backgrounds, but making the forest in the background darker maybe would add a little more depth to the picture?
About the clothes - the hood looks good but I don't think that a onesie would fit that perfectly around the chest and belly/hip area! The shading and highlighting looks very nice, but it almost looks a bit too perfect! Try to add a few wrinkles and make some parts a bit baggy, for example, in this picture the fabric would be a bit baggy around the belly since she's sitting down, and it would stretch around the hips and legs. Unless the clothes are supposed to be thight of course, what do I know haha! Anyways, I'm not very good at drawing clothes myself, but you just have to think about the physics - how do you think the fabric would fall in different areas? Also, you could try adding textures to the clothes to make it look more realistic!
